AN IRISH EVENING - THE LAUNCH OF THE ATLANTIC YOUTH TRUST

The Princess Grace Irish Library is delighted to be associated with this wonderful initiative to launch the Monaco branch of the Atlantic Youth Trust charity, by providing books to the crew, who must leave their mobile phones on dry land when they set sail! The trust's goal is to connect young people with the ocean, to acquire life skills, while developing sustainability and protecting the environment.

Anne Chambers - author of the biography on Grace O'Malley

The ship is named after Grace O’Malley, the County Mayo ‘Pirate Queen’, who was considered to be a fearless leader and the ’most notorious woman in all the coasts of Ireland’ who challenged and manipulates the turbulent politics of the 16th century, according to author Anne Chambers, expert on the subject and author of 'Grace O'Malley - the biography of Ireland's Pirate Queen 1530-1603'.
