Beannachtaí means blessings in gaelic
This beautiful nativity scene in Irish crystal is the personal crib (crèche) of Madame Mourou, Founder and President of Le Chemin des Crèches., who is very kindly displaying it this year in homage to Princess Grace and the 40th anniversary of the Irish library in her namesake.
The Irish-inspired nativity scene by primary school children and a celtic cross typically used in of the 12th century. Thank you to the François d'Assise-Nicolas Barré (FANB) school for this special collaboration, which is displayed at la Chapelle de la Miséricorde (Chapel of Mercy) on the Rock. The chapel is mere steps away from the library so pop in to see us! (Monday - Friday).
Ireland is represented on the Chemin des Crèches for the first time this Christmas
As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, the Princess Grace Irish Library is very happy to collaborate with the children from the primary school François d'Assise-Nicolas Barré (FANB) to create a special nativity scene with a celtic design.
We are honoured to participate in this annual, religious exhibition with representations from countries all over the world. This is the first time that Ireland will be featured. Many cribs are already displayed on the steps of the pedestrian path (la Rampe Major) leading up to the square in front of the Prince's palace on the 'Rock' (Le Rocher) in December (until early January 2025).
You will have to wait until December 8th to see the children's design! Their Irish-inspired crib will be displayed at la Chapelle de la Miséricorde (Chapel of Mercy) on the Rock. The chapel is mere steps away from the library so pop in to see us! (Monday - Friday).

We are grateful to Madame Mourou, President and Founder of Le Chemin des Crèches and Madame Damasco, Principal of the FANB school for this wonderful collaboration. Special thanks to Mme Mourou for displaying her personal crib in beautiful Irish crystal - it can be seen as you walk up the steps to the palace as part of the Chemin des Crèches.
