About the artist
Mark Armstrong has lived in the Principality for over 40 years, since 1985. He worked for Sotheby's Monte Carlo Office for the same time period and prior to that, spent time in their U.K. office and in Cape Town, South Africa. Since his recent retirement, he has taken up his paint brush for pleasure.

His 40 landscapes of Monaco retrace the steps of Princess Grace during her marriage to Prince Rainier III. The exhibition coincides with the 70th anniversary of the "wedding of the century".

He is also Treasurer of The Ireland Funds Monaco, which is one of the chapters of The Ireland Funds, a global philanthropic network established in 1976 to promote and support peace, culture, education and community development throughout the island of Ireland, and Irish-related causes around the world.
Mark grew up in the UK and also lived in Malta, where the family home is still located. Mark is a member of The Order of Malta. The connection to Ireland is through his father and goes back to middle 16th century. His father and grandmother left Ireland in the 1920s and settled in Nice and often visited Monaco.
